Sure, gas prices are high.  Sometimes you have to wonder, though, when you see people on television complaining that they have a hard time feeding their family as they fill up their gas-guzzling Lexus or Mercedes SUV.

While out on my daily morning walk, I consistently see four or five cars enter an intersection well after the traffic light turned red.  I’ve almost been hit a few times.  Have we lost so much civility that we are unwilling to obey the simplest of traffic laws?  I never realized “red light” was a difficult concept.

As one of the 95% of all Americans paying their mortgage on time, I oppose spending taxpayer dollars to bail out the 5% of Americans who aren’t paying their mortgage, for whatever reason.  Most of that 5% have not been harmed by predatory lenders and should be held accountable for their actions.  The few that have been hurt by questionable lending practices have other remedies at their disposal.
